Europe Meets Renew at Caravan Salon 2026 with ToMTuR

Virro started in Findlay, Ohio in early 2026, but we’re already making waves in Europe.
This September, Renew stood on a German trade-show floor with ToMTuR (https://tomtur.de) — our exclusive distributor for Europe — and the room did what rooms do when something interesting shows up: people stopped, looked twice, and asked a lot of questions.
The 2026 Caravan Salon, one of the largest RV trade shows on Earth, gave Renew a warm reception. https://www.caravan-salon.com/
ToMTuR is based in Johanniskirchen, Germany. Their team has spent years bringing waterless toilets and composting systems to campers, boaters, and RV/van builders across the EU and beyond. As RV life and Van life continues to grow in Europe, ToMTur is finding more and more people want alternatives to dump stations and sewer connections.
In 2025 as Virro began developing the Renew series of urine diverting composting toilets, one of the early places we looked for feedback was ToMTuR, because they understand this market as well as anyone. ToMTuR’s enthusiasm about Renew’s potential in Europe was an important building block in our strategy, and their commitment to be Renew’s exclusive distributor for all of Europe validates our mutual respect for each other.
What the floor actually said
Gaelan Brown reported from the show: strong general public interest in Renew, with longer conversations and people leaning in to learn more. Someone on Tobias’s team put it simply — “Renew is going to be a game changer.”
That line sticks because it wasn’t a feature dump. It was the bigger picture.
Yes, Renew is larger than some compact European RV footprints would like. But the ToMTuR team saw past that immediately, because many RV owners want a larger, more comfortable and more stylish solution than typical RV toilets.
And many Europeans also have offgrid cabins and tiny houses that need resource-conserving toilets. Renew is poised to be the premium solution for people who want a bathroom that doesn’t feel like camping gear.
The Renew prototype on display at ToMTuR’s booth drew a lot of curiosity. And the detail that kept making people stop? The full size deluxe wooden seat.
A full-size, soft-close seat. Not a scaled-down compromise. This is the kind of thing that sounds small until you watch reactions from people — oh. That looks like a toilet that I want in my bathroom.
Tobias created a detailed Renew brochure for the booth — colors, options, dimensions, power requirements, etc. But the detail that mattered most to people was the dignified inviting style of Renew’s first impression, because it looks like something you’d want in your home. The ToMTuR booth re-stated the value proposition in the European way: “VIRRO Renew — without water, without chemicals, without odor.” But the bigger story about Renew is more subtle.
Why Renew isn’t just an American story
Conventional flush-sanitation solved big issues for humanity: hygiene, disease reduction, water quality, etc. But over time many cultures have been looking for better solutions that don’t waste clean water and have better economics. Europe already has a deep culture around Trenntoiletten and waterless toilet systems, and a desire in its people to be good stewards of the environment. What Virro brings is the platform for the next step that we keep naming out loud: waste is actually a resource that can be stewarded and recovered.
Renew’s core value proposition is simple. Separate humanure and urine at the point of use. Keep the ick factor out of the user experience. Treat urine and solids as streams with value, not something to hide and haul away.
Renew is the first step — with Manual, Electric & Flex models in three colors — designed so the experience rewards the people who choose a better system. ToMTuR is how that story lands in Europe with local service, language, and credibility that only comes from deep experience.
